Augmented Reality for Enterprise Alliance

The Players

Augmented Reality Ecosystem

The success of a new technology is often dependent on the ecosystem built around it. The more complex the technology, the more diverse the ecosystem that supports it – and the more vital it is to nurture that ecosystem to ensure success.

Gartner defines a digital ecosystem as “an interdependent group of enterprises, people and/or things that share standardized digital platforms for a mutually beneficial purpose (commercial gain, innovation or common interest). Digital ecosystems enable you to interact with customers, partners, adjacent industries, and even competitors to further your goals.

The AREA is focused on accelerating the adoption of enterprise Augmented Reality (AR) by creating a comprehensive ecosystem. The AR ecosystem is composed of many industry players that need to work together to deliver on the promise of enterprise AR. These players include enterprises (the users of AR technology) and AR solutions providers, as well as non-commercial organizations, such as academic institutions and industry groups. Together, these segments of the AR ecosystem are working to ensure that AR solutions are delivering value to the broadest range of users
